Filing Requirements:Multiple applications or a set application are allowable in Hong Kong which enjoy a reduced fee.
Multiple applications contain two or more articles relate to the same class of articles or relate to the same set of articles according to Locarno Classification. 
A set application contains two or more articles of the same or similar design and of the same general character that are usually sold together or are intended to be used together for a set.
Required Information and Documents:
  • Applicant’s name and address;
  • A clear copy of drawings of the article or 2 sets of photographic representations of the article;
  • A statement of the features of the design for which novelty is claimed;
  • If applicant is not the designer, details of the instrument, or events by which the applicant acquired the right to make the application (e.g. by employment or assignment) is required;
  • If convention priority is claimed, the name of the country or territory where the priority application was filed, the priority application number and the priority filing date are required;
  • A photocopy of the certified priority document. If it is not in English or Chinese, a sworn English or Chinese translation of the document is required;
  • If the applicant is not the same applicant as named in the priority design application, a statement explaining the applicant’s right to apply (for example a copy of an assignment) is required;
  • If non-prejudicial disclosure is claimed, the name and place of the prescribed exhibition or meeting at which the invention was disclosed, the opening date of the exhibition or meeting, and the date of first disclosure are required;
  • No form such as Power of Attorney etc. is required to be signed by the applicant.
Renewal:Renewal fee is payable by the end of each five years protection period.
